Evan Penny: Re Figured at the Art Gallery of Ontario
Exhibition extended to February 10, 2013

If you are travelling to Toronto for the holiday season or in the new year, be sure to see the acclaimed exhibition Evan Penny : Re Figured at the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO). Due to overwhelming demand, the exhibition has  been extended to February 10, 2013. Curated by Daniel J. Schreiber of Germany’s Kunsthalle Tübingen  and accompanied by a multilingual catalogue, this large-scale survey exhibition includes over 30 works including larger-than-life sculptures and photographs. Additionally, the exhibition features a film that provides an overview of the artist’s production over the past decade. Evan Penny : Re Figured concludes its run at the AGO after being shown at various European venues such as the Kunsthalle Tübingen, Germany; the Museum der Moderne Salzburg, Austria; and MARCA, Catanzaro, Italy.

As noted by Matthew Teitelbaum, director and CEO of the AGO, “Evan’s strikingly original sculptures have essentially created a genre…his work has been shown across the world and it is with delight that we welcome him home with his first solo exhibition at the AGO.”

And as remarked by Nancy Campbell, AGO curator of record for Evan Penny : Re Figured, ” Evan’s artistry is a powerful yet playful display of human emotion and expression. His signature techniques, often presented in portrait busts with skewed proportions or unusual colour schemes, are perfectly showcased in the works presented here.”

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to see this exciting exhibition!
