Harold Klunder – For Viewing at TrépanierBaer
On the occasion of Harold Klunder’s first survey in western Canada, This Length of Muddy Road organized by the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie, TrépanierBaer is pleased to present Harvest, a recently completed painting.
With its brilliant yellow autumnal light, sophisticated palette, and upward Assumption-like composition, this complex, fluid work invites the viewer into the poetry of transformation: from light and earth into body and dream towards something like joy. Harvest will be available for viewing beginning January 22 through to next week.
Harold Klunder is widely considered to be one of the country’s most important painters. Born in 1943, he lives and works in Montréal with occasional sojourns into Flesherton, Ontario and Berlin, Germany, where he maintains studios.
