“Re: vision”

TrépanierBaer is delighted to announce the opening of a new exhibition entitled, “Re:vision” Friday,November 7th, 2003 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm.
This group exhibition brings together several senior, prominent, and emerging gallery artists – Martin Bennett, Angela Inglis, Luanne Martineau, Ron Moppett (Gershon Iskowitz Prize, 1997), and Arlene Stamp – with invitational contributions by two prominent senior Canadian artists: Eric Cameron (Gershon Iskowitz Prize, 1994), and Liz Magor (Governor General’s Award, 2001).
This group exhibition is assembled under the guise of bringing together works by contemporary artists that find common premise in their articulation of ‘everyday’ or ‘commonplace’ subjects. Their revisions, ultimately disrupt the viewers habitual response to perception by interfering with the order of appearances: what at first glance may seem familiar is anything but.
