Summer Newsletter – New Acquisition at TrépanierBaer
TrépanierBaer is pleased to add a new acquisition to our Fred Herzog exhibition with another photograph by the artist. Titled S-Lane Union Street, Vacouver, this photograph captures the quotidian activities at an urban alleyway, while a majestic tree, with its elongated, finger-like branches, stands solemn and sentient in the middle of the lane. This work is amongst the first printed photographs by Fred Herzog, and was made before his acclaimed inaugural exhibition Fred Herzog: Vacouver Photographs at the Vancouver Art Gallery in 2007.
Heritage Day Weekend
The gallery will be closed for long weekend so that we can continue to enjoy warm and sunny summer days. We look forward to welcoming you back on Tuesday, August 2, 2022.
Al McWilliams – In the Viewing Room
Al McWilliams – Remnants and Reclamations: an Archeology of the Studio exhibition continues at the gallery in our Viewing Room. This suite of assemblages is made from diverse materials sourced from various locations. These overlooked and unnoticed items are a kind of urban archeology that reflects modern-day civilization and the practices and preferences of its inhabitants. The re-assemblage of these materials in dynamic and elegant configurations confers a new life on them, and elicits innumerable responses.
